Holy Cross School Scholarship Program
Thank you to all the students that applied for Scholarships. This
was the first year we’ve made these scholarships available and we
received a great response. We are hoping these Scholarships
will help encourage students to better their education.
The three $1,000 Scholarships were awarded to:
Steve Lochen who will be attending Saint Mary’s
University of Minnesota, School of Graduate and Professional
Programs seeking a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy
Kristen Kuechle who is attending the University of
Minnesota Carlson School of Management seeking a Bachelor of Science
in Business, Accounting, and Finance
Stacy Gregory who will be attending Winona State
University seeking a degree in Nursing
As part of the application process, the applicants wrote a short
essay on how Holy Cross helped them prepare for the future.
Here are just a few of the quotes from the essay portion of the
scholarship that we would like to share:
- Holy Cross School has not only provided me with an outstanding education but has taught me strong values and morals and about the importance of family.
- One of the religious experiences that benefitted me the most was the family groups at Holy Cross School. It is here where I began to understand that being Catholic makes me part of a huge family. This family has helped me get through all the struggles in my life.
- Being Catholic is a lot more than going to church, it is being a kind person who genuinely cares for other people. Holy Cross has taught me to be a caring and kind person through God.
- The teachers showed us respect and how to treat others as Jesus would.
- What I will remember most from Holy Cross is W.W. J.D. What Would Jesus Do? I will never forget that I came from a Catholic School.
- I never understood why they always made us put on the Mass, but now I fully realize that they were just giving us a taste of what it’s like to talk in front of people, some of them were even perfect strangers.
The purpose of the Holy Cross School Scholarship Program is to support
continued education for Holy Cross alumni.
